Principal Buoy

An 18+ year veteran in the field of education, Ms. Buoy has served as an Interim Grade-Level Administrator, an Instructional Support Specialist, a Literacy Coach, a Title-I facilitator, an ELA Academic Coach, a Teacher, a Mentor, and Vice-Chair of the Principal’s Advisory Council. As an Athletic Coach, Ms. Buoy has led the Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, and Softball teams.

Honored as the 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year at Cedar Grove Elementary School in DeKalb County, Ms. Buoy was recognized as the teacher with the highest test scores and the most growth on the GA Milestones Assessment.

Ms. Buoy holds a Master of Arts Degree (4.0 Graduate) in Educational Leadership, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English (As a 19-Year-Old Magna Cum Laude Graduate) and is currently pursuing a Specialist Degree in Curriculum & Instruction at Kennesaw State University, where she will also acquire a Doctoral Degree in School Leadership.

One of her greatest accomplishments is the creation of “Saint’s Paradise,” a recreational game room at Cedar Grove Elementary School designed to promote and maintain excellence in academics and positive student behavior.

Ms. Buoy is committed to ensuring that every child has equal access to a quality education.

In her leisure time, Ms. Buoy enjoys playing the piano and traveling.
